How long is the procedure?

Vasectomies are technically reversible. However this procedure is not covered under OHIP, cost thousands of dollars and is not guaranteed to be successful. You should only have a vasectomy if you are sure you no longer wish to father children.

The initial freezing using a pressure injector feels about the same as an elastic band snapping on the skin. Not great, but better than a needle!

You should take it easy for 2-3 days after your procedure. Return to full/strenuous activity can be done after 1 week.

You can have sex 5 days after the procedure. You should continue to use alternate forms of contraception until your sterility is confirmed (after 12 weeks).
